In February 2025, an executive order was signed to review and potentially undo federal actions from 2021-2025 that “impinged” on Second Amendment rights. This includes efforts to regulate ghost guns, enhance background checks, and classify certain firearms. The White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention was eliminated, and a Surgeon General’s advisory declaring gun violence a public health crisis was revoked.
